Derkuleen - ForrestWick - Note Appeal (killing roundstart clock cultist as QM)

Post by ForrestWick »

BYOND account and character name: ForrestWick - Forrest Greene

Noting admin: Derkuleen

Noting type/duration: Mid-severity

Note reason: during round ID 19106 gunned down a culty because "they were not on the manifest" while this individual was infact a cultiest when asked why they didnt bother to try and deconvert they were openly hostile in responses as well as showing no interest in attempting to deconvert cultist because "they are valid." If we ever want anything but LRP this is the kind of thing we need to curb especially when there was no call for such open hostility as the first course of action

Your side of the story: A clock cultist (roundstart one) came up to me while I was QM and acting captain asking to be made an engineer. It was about 10 minutes into the round and I saw some things about them that made me suspicious, IE: the brass tools sprite on their toolbelt. I didn't want to jump to immediate conclusions, so I took them to the HOP line and decided to take their ID and put it into the console. Before I did ANYTHING else though, I made sure to look at the manifest. I scanned over it FIVE TIMES just to be *absolutely certain* that this person was crew. They were not. They weren't on the manifest at all. They were not on the manifest, and clock cult had been confirmed as soon as the round started. In response to seeing this, I decided to rush out into the line and start batoning them into stamcrit. I had no cuffs on me, no way to keep them detained, and on top of that no way to know how many people they'd converted, so the only thing I could do is switch to harm intent and kill the person. The very second they died, Derkuleen admin PM'd me asking why I had done that, and I explained what I just stated above MULTIPLE times, resulting in him responding with ridiculous claims and jumping to conclusions saying I wasn't making an effort to deconvert.

I'm gonna go over this in bullet points.
>gunned down a culty
Way to specify the type of cult and also imply I was powergaming by saying "gunned down" when all I did was smash their head with a tbaton (pre-buff tbaton to boot).
>openly hostile in responses as well as showing no interest in attempting to deconvert the cultist "because they are valid"
False. My responses were as calm as they could be as I drug the person's body to sec, and started ordering them to get the chaplain to security so that the person could be cloned and watered. For reference, the chaplain that round latejoined and on top of that the chaplain in the previous round to 19106 spammed WGW over comms, got murdered, and came back as a lifebringer so they could keep spamming WGW.
>no call for such open hostility as the first course of action
And yet we round after round let every non-cult player make spears and improv shotguns, run through maint, murder to their heart's content the second clock or blood cults are confirmed, while also being endorsed by multiple admins? I know Sectoid Dan and Redtail both have the sentiment that killing cultists is 100% valid, so how are you going to make the claim it was LRP when the admin team can't even agree on that alone?

Why you think you should be unbanned:
The note is not only full of false information but is also purposely misleading. I took the body to sec and told them to handle it as I was only the QM and had to make sure the station was supplied since clockies got confirmed within the first few minutes. I had no way of knowing how bad the situation was snowballing by that point, had no way to detain other than a baton and pulling them (which someone easily coulda nabbed the guy from my hands if I did), and implies I was going to leave them perma-dead.

To top it off, I'd like to also point out myself and others have been left perma killed, thrown into the SM, cremated, etc as cult before and no admins batted an eye. Derkuleen has observed cult rounds after where cultists were killed early on and to my knowledge delivered no warnings or punishments for it. I wasn't even aware I got noted for this until today when I was dusted in the SM as a clock cultist against a captain armed with a nullrod, stun weapons, and immediate access to cables that he could cuff me with and had to argue with Redtail about it over PMs, to which they responded with their decision, while excessive, was valid.

I don't appreciate being called a lier because we have different opinions on the situation. I also don't appreciate you discounting and disputing any and everything I say for the sake of argument. A note is a simple catalogue of information about a character. No action was taken in regards to this note an did were Eve to try and actually crack down on lrp behavior we have to start somewhere.

This being said I don't have the resources to look up logs for this round, at the moment, nor do I have too much more time to discuss this ad nauseum. If you're this opposed to the note in your records I can have it removed so that the history can forever dissapear to the aether. I doubt anyone else cares enough about a note to fight for or against it and there's no bother in exhausting resources to keep it. I'll remove it at my earliest convince. Good day
