Jobban Appeal - Security and Command

Reason Banned: Arresting a sizeable portion of the station for participating in a non-consensual gangrape on the Captain as Head of Security. Banned from all Security and Command roles.

Admin who banned: Unknown.

Length Banned: Permanent I'm assuming.

Appeal Reason: The ban was applied around, by my best estimate, mid-November (going to need verification on that one) and my declining activity on the server and other obligations made me simply shrug and eat the ban with a spoonful of sugar. It's my first offense, and I know now to be a lot more selective in who I arrest in situations like that. In hindsight, I should've arrested the primary ringleaders rather than everyone in that tiny room. I understand what I did wrong, and I've been wanting to play Security roles on the RP-focused server.

The story is quite something else, but I assure you it's all genuine, although I'm not 100% certain on the exact wording of the ban.

What had happened was that I was sitting around as HoS after executing a few traitors when the detective started screaming about the Captain being captured and held in the dorms. Going to the dorms, I saw the detective locked out of one and telling me about how they were planning to rape her. I managed to talk one of the ringleaders into opening the door for me, and when I walked in I asked the Cap (who was emoting their character crying and being held down, as well as physically restrained and disarmed) if she was a consenting participant in all of this. She said no, and when I asked if she wanted me to arrest everyone (there was at least nine people in that room) she said yes. Stepping back outside and coordinating with the detective, mostly everyone in that room was detained after a few flashbangs. I asked the Captain if she wanted me to perform any executions, she said no, and I left it at that. After a while, I'm guessing the salt overflow became too much to handle and staff online adminbus'd an order saying to release all the prisoners and that I was to be demoted. Staff spoke to me, and while I don't know the specifics of what they said, I was jobbanned from all security and command roles.

Mind you, the Captain OOCly consented to their character being raped. They weren't suddenly abducted without their consent. The way I saw it, however, is that IC does not equal OOC. The Captain may have OOCly consented to their character being raped, but ICly they did not and their character did indeed state, quite clearly, they were being raped and wanted help, thus the rape law applies, since space law is an in character means of handling in character infractions.

I mean if your account is legitimate, I would urge for your immediate unban, considering you did literally nothing wrong.

Your story kind of makes sense about the whole 'player complaint' aspect, but the only way to verify what you're saying is if Worgilisk came to give his side.

At the same time; the note there states that you performed unnecessary executions. Can you highlight the players you killed, for me?

So the ban was a lot longer ago than I originally thought, huh.

I remember executing some traitors that round with the Captain's permission and putting away the body of a traitor's ERP buddy who went into a seething rage at their friend's arrest and killing themselves, but that was about it. I never executed anyone that was involved with the Captain's rape, and although I asked them if they wanted anyone from that group executed, they said no and I never pursued that matter further afterwards, although I may have made a few thinly-veiled threats of such to the prisoners.

If you're being legitimate, and let me be completely clear, if your story is genuine, then I'm kinda confused why you were banned to begin with. Did you just say 'ok' when you were Bwoinked?

No, not at all. I made sure I explained my side and my views on the situation to the best of my abilities, and explained myself when asked. When judgment was passed, I simply shrugged and ate it since I'm not usually one to argue past the point of futility.
