[Main] Perma Ban - Appeal for being toxic.
BYOND Name: Coolgat3
Reason Banned: "https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/ ... nknown.png Quality Control. Told someone to go die and refused to apologize for it. They've been told repeatedly about their temper, and we have zero tolerance policy for things of this nature.
Admin who banned: R3dtaile
Length Banned: Permament
Appeal Reason: Well. You all probably wanted to get rid of me since quite a while and I finally did something that made it possible, I guess. I'd like to point out that I did lose my temper, but I still have one or two friends on the server I'd be glad to spend time with, if that's possible. I don't know what else to say, sorry, it won't happen again.
But there's another thing. This has made me really sad, to the point of actually crying, that the admin team - or maybe I should say that it was one certain person, then the others agreed with them - resorted to asking a rather easily convinceable person on their team to gain information about what exactly I write to them in private messages on discord (See the linked screenshot in ban reason). If I was talked to about this issue on the server, like it's supposed to be done, I would be talking completely differently. I got banned for what I wrote in DMs and not in an ahelp. This is disgusting.
Why, you may ask? Let me tell you.
What you did to me today is you made one of my closest friends backstab me by sharing what I rant about to them in DMs, thinking that it won't leak out anywhere. If this is how you deal with conflicts requiring admin intervention, then maybe I don't want to come back after I re-think it all... I hope you are truly happy with how you've dealt with this situation.
That being said, I am sorry for losing my temper, the general thing I was banned for in my opinion is what I said to a close friend about the situation, not knowing that it would leak out further. I'm sure we all have a person to vent to.

Could the banning admin post logs/a screenshot of the actual incident instead of private messages from after the fact?

Just to chime in: I don't know you very well, but the *only* interaction I've ever even had with you was one where you got angry at me and proceeded to insult me over stupid shit. Honestly, I would not say you have the attitude to be unbanned. You should prove that you've actually changed before trying to get unbanned.

I know people don't like me. I don't care about those who don't like me. I already stated that I'm only appealing because I care about the only few friends I have on server.
Besides good luck with me "proving to you I changed" when I'm not even there.

Right, i just wanna voice my own personnal opinion about coolgat and this. As people and he himself says, yes, he has anger issues, and it happens quite alot honestly, and it is a problem. He might say a bunch of really fucking stupid shit when he is mad, and its hard too get trough, but every single time ive seen him mad he has cooled off eventualy. When he isint mad, hes a great fucking guy too hang around with and he contribuites alot too my own experience ingame and others, and does stuff ooc too help everyone. Is it easy too tick him off? Yes, in my opinion it is. Does he overeact about stuff that dosent go his way? Fuck yes. But outside of that he is a great guy, and id like too see him playing again, since i know alot of people have bias, me included, and dont know him from ANYTHING but ooc when he gets mad.

Appearently I got banned from RP too, so I guess it's an appeal for both servers.

I'm not biased, and I have no negative opinion nor a positive opinion of you. I'm simply saying that the one opportunity you actually had to speak with me, you used it to lampoon me with insults, leave the station, and then proceeded to (attempt) to seek me out OOC and insult me further, which didn't work because you didn't know me out of game.
If I *was* staff on this station, this appeal would not be getting my approval, you need to prove you actually have changed your attitude.

I said I'm sorry. I got banned from RP even though I did nothing worth noting on RP ever. Or at least I do not remember. The source of all these conflicts is my involvement in OOC chat, so why can't I get an OOC ban instead? A permaban from both servers and discord is way too overkill. I know I said I don't feel remorse at first but honestly some people don't just cool off in a blink of an eye.

Not a admin either, just here to talk about my experience with Coolgat.
He's a good guy, just gets angry very easy and needs time to cool off after, but is sometimes a bit too engaged and doesn't see when to better end a ooc discussion.
Though, when he's cooled off, he all fine again (and usually admits to overreacting a bit)
In all honesty, its a bit shitty to pm him (right) after the end of this ooc discussion, and using this pm (private message) response to ban him. Would've been fine to either just talk or to wait until he's cooled off, but no, it needs to be right after and used in a admin ruling.
(Though you might need to try and change a bit aswell, its hard to do so but your way of coping with the situation in ooc is kinda problematic for people who don't know you and still have to endure you in that state. Would be good if you'd try to first take into consideration if you are in fact angry, and only when you weren't anymore started to discuss it, so neither side gets the big bwoink / ooc disable.)
Honestly just a plain ooc ban might be best here, since thats where most of the problems happen.

I guess if you want my response to this; I saw all of what you said in both OOC and in DMs. I'm not the banning admin so to speak, just the one that mirrored the ban to the RP server at the other staff's behest. I fully stand by the mirror. To keep it short: What you said was vitriolic, you need to learn the art of the chill, and, realize that you're typing to other real life, flesh and blood people. There is time to take a breather. There is time to NOT type what you have on your mind. It's not like talking; blurting stuff out on accident happens. Anger can control what you say. Anger can't control what you type. Your fingers have to actively press hundreds of keys to type out a message that'd take you mere seconds to speak. You can reflect on your emotions, behavior, and, actions when it comes to typing out responses. Get better. Chill.
