BYOND Name: TheVal
Reason Banned: Overesclation Killing someone for spacing their stuff. Please take this time to reread the rules. RoundID 17399.
Admin who banned: Geemiesif
Length Banned: 1440 minutes.
Appeal Reason: I don't believe it was over-escalation in the first place. I don't agree with it. When someone spaces your character's items, doesn't talk at all, and doesn't even respond to words, my character is going to make them go get it. Add onto the fact that my character was currently undergoing an addiction to the substance thrown. Let alone that they infected my character with the disease that was going around in the meanwhile.
The rule specifically states "Murder is only justifiable as long as it was properly escalated. You can’t go from a single rude punch to a knife in the neck. You can, however, go from a single punch to a counter punch to a brawl to using weapons, and so on. Other IC justifications may exist for murder, but these are on a case by case basis. Minor aggravations like demotions, pranks, insults, or thefts are not adequate justification."
I full-heartedly believe that the combination of the reasons above was enough escalation for my character's actions.
I was going to be let off with a warning, but no, because I disagree with the fact that it was overescalation in the first place is enough to raise it to a full day ban.

Oh, I would also appreciate it if player bans weren't talked about publicly in the discord. Not sure if that's a thing you guys go by. I figured these things were on a need to know basis.
