Discord - Unknown - Ban appeal for private criticism of an admin.

So, the one complaint I've had about the server thus far has been the way admins both compose themselves and handle community interactions between players. That, apparently, came to a head, today.

I was unaware that we were not allowed to speak about IC events while the shuttle is departing - When I did so, I was warned by no less than three people in short order. When I asked questions to clarify, Geemiesif immediately interjected in the conversation not to simply add his two cents, but to threaten a ban with no precursor. He then kicked me from the server when I jokingly told him to 'bap' himself - quotes included.

Firstly; If someone is unclear on the rules of the server, correcting them is the appropriate way to handle the situation - not threatening them. Secondly, the way he handled the subsequent private conversation was absolutely unacceptable. When I confronted him about it, and advised him that threatening to ban me when there were multiple people already explaining the rules was, at the very least, unprofessional in the extreme, I was greeted immediately by another threat of banning rather than an actual conversation.

I further expounded upon my issue with his conduct, keeping my behavior professional, and was told I was 'digging myself deeper' while I was giving constructive criticism about how he handled events. I had not insulted, threatened, or cajoled him in any way; He then immediately told me that, per a new announcement (which I could not see), I was banned.

I can provide screenshots of my private conversation, and you have access to the discord logs. The ban needs to be lifted immediately, and Geemiesif needs to be reprimanded for his knee-jerk reactionary behavior.

I.. don't especially care? You apparently have the administrative skills of a untested intern, so it's not a terrible loss if so. Also, if you haven't realized; I have not been rude to you - You're simply flexing for some unknown reason instead of handling the situation like an adult.

I don't get what? That I'm not supposed to talk about IC things in Discord? I wasn't aware doing so was disallowed 30 seconds before the end of a round, now I am, you, however, took things too far immediately.

Appeal Reason: I should not have been banned in the first place. Having a heated but polite disagreement with an admin in a private message is not an acceptable reason to ban someone - unless you're roleplaying a dictator.

As previously mentioned - if he had warned me, I would have dropped it then and there. However, his first response was not to warn me, but to say 'looks like someone needs a ban from discord'. That's not a warning; that's a threat.

Yeah okay Geem didn't say it in the nicest way and "you need a bapping don't you" isn't what I think warnings should be worded as. Also, it'd be nice if Geem had taken the PMs with more tact, but still:

If you actively pm a staffmember telling them to mind their own business, YOU ARE DIGGING YOURSELF A GRAVE. You don't get to tell admins to not care, if you have a problem with how they're handling something you can talk to them in admin forum. Not give them the finger in DMs. Admin forum exists, or you could just ask what they meant by "bapping", say that wasn't the nicest way to say it, or any other way than seeking out conflict with staff over DMs. You dug yourself into this now you dig yourself out.

So yeah I wouldn't say this was handled well but you managed to make it far worse.

Hi there, took a moment to give my thoughts on this.

Yeah, Geem can be harsh at times, that's for sure. Yet telling him to mind his own business when he's simply doing what he's meant to do (Aka enforce the rules) is not the best thing to do. But if you're ready to apologize or anything, I'd be down to lift that discord personally, but I think the final judgment should come from Geemie.
