Discord/Sec role ban appeal, the 2nd Cumming

I'm going to just repost my last appeal, with the addendum that I've played several rounds on both the RP and main server without being a shitter.  I'd very much like to have this looked over again, since it's been a while and I was told to remake after, y'know, a while.

BYOND Name: A Tiefling

Reason Banned:  Roleban was, in my opinion, Raeschen being upset at me for unrelated reasons to the actual round.  I believe the stated reason was brigging someone indefinitely on extended or something like that.  The specifics are kind of hazy, but I think was questioning someone doing very sketchy shit as captain when there was no security on the station.

I genuinely forget what the discord ban was for, but I was probably telling either Pooj or Raeschen to stop being a shitter.

Admin who banned:  Roleban was Raeschen, Discord ban was Gorgilisk.

Length Banned:  Perma, presumably.

Appeal Reason:   I'd like to actually be able to play sec roles again.  Before I took a couple month break, I played several HoP rounds without incident and I often played QM or other roles with reasonably high access and power with very little issue.    

As for the Discord ban, I think banning me from the server indefinitely is a bit harsh, especially since I can't even remember what the banning reason is.  I'm usually pretty good at remembering when I say something real fucked up to someone.

Hey, this is understandable to a point!   I can be a fairly emotional and rowdy, but I also think I'm being misrepresented here.  If I remember, this "straw that broke the camel's back" involved Poojawa who is one of the more divisive members of the staff who actively, at least at the time, coded and insta-merged features that no one in the community really wanted.  I also remember being provoked outside of the game regarding this.  I also remember Poojawa not exactly being a fantastic coder with a good track record of interacting with the community. I also, also remember being banned several minutes after any hostility had ended and I'd calmed down, without a word from anyone and without any of the admins discussing the matter with me.  I fully agree that I can be an argumentative person, but putting the entirety of the blame on me when you consider the other people typically involved in the occasions I get riled up isn't something I can agree with.

Raeschen in particular, who even admitted to having a grudge against me at least once.   It'd take me ages to dig up the screenshot, but I could do that if you really want.

All of that aside as well, I've done a very good job of keeping my salt to deadchat since this incident.

Hi hi. Full disclosure, I absolutely like Tiefling a lot. This little bit of vouching for them is coming absolutely to their surprise though, not at their request or at behest of some venting about the matter or anything.

For context, apparently a lot of people in the Citadel community have a really high opinion of me as a writer and as someone that's understanding and sweet or somesuch even in roles like security (Kevinz, Dilithium, WolfOrion, Glitchy, Durandan, Knouli, etc. ?) I've been out of hiatus for... A few days to a week and have been showered with praise from people who missed me, no matter how much depressive old me doesn't feel it's deserved. I've been called the "opposite of shitcurity" and been thanked, applauded and treated especially amazingly both in character and out of character for my decisions primarily as a security officer under the character Tea Couverture. (For fairness' sake though, Zelda I believe holds some tremendously negative opinions of me and/or Tea as security for some genuinely shitty, shitty circumstances a long time in the past - that, especially in retrospect, I absolutely understand. If you'd like another viewpoint on the matter, I'd suggest going to them and hearing out their opinion. I think very highly of Zelda regardless. ♥ )

I'm posting mostly because I genuinely believe Tief is wholeheartedly a quality player and an excellent, extremely valuable writer for the community despite flaws I'll be acknowledging and offering solutions about just a little further below. They've been nothing but excessively kind and supportive to me in a startlingly short time, and though we've scarcely known one another here and there as acquaintances long ago, during the short period I've really known them they've asserted themselves as a wonderful friend to me. As biased as that makes me, I strongly believe the reasons they've been such an asset and ally to me also make them a desirable member of the community! I know for a fact they have their own set of wonderful, incredibly supportive friends I'm beginning to be introduced to, with whom they seem to have zero ongoing problems with day to day, and ingame they've truly been nothing but agreeable and engaging in LOOC and IC. They play interesting characters, they write very, very well, and they take time to consider most of their actions with - apologies for the frankness - many times more thoughtfulness and care than the vast majority of the playerbase.

They've absolutely historically had issues being confrontational and no matter that I haven't been around to see these things take place personally, I understand and recognize that they're there, they're important, and they're a concern. This is why I'd like to offer to extend my attitudes about being considerate to others, and my beliefs about behavior as security personnel, to them and you the staff in the interests of giving them a chance. I'm already of my own volition interested in playing rounds alongside them as their friend, and I'd be more than happy to accompany and "buddy" them as security officers - to keep an eye on their behavior, relay questionable decisions/reactions I see to staff for discussion, and to mitigate an issue with other players if such a thing were to occur, de-escalate and ground them as best I can. I understand this is a little silly, but I genuinely believe Tief is important to have around and frankly they're someone I'd really and truly appreciate playing security with, and if it'd help at all, I'd be willing to put in this effort to assist any sort of probationary "on thin ice" deal. I'm active regularly both ingame and in the discord and regardless will be around often should something happen.

For what it's worth, Tiefling just today was harassed about something truly silly in LOOC to an excessive degree, and while I would have like to have been there to help them handle it with a little more understanding and tact, they even then went out of their way to de-escalate and remove themselves from the situation without instigating a conflict. The issue was their playing an ethnically/culturally Chinese character without knowing Cantonese - which was apparently a problem for someone who tried to speak it to them through LOOC and proceeded to say some very very silly things about "being fake Chinese" "fuck you you're not really chinese, laowei. pretending to speak canto fuck off."

I was there for them in Discord for them to vent to about this issue and made sure they adminhelped about it instead of causing a problem.

As an aside, @Tief, I think it'd show a certain willingness to meet in the middle and put effort into earning your chance to behave a little more kindly than you did in the past if you found that screenshot. I strongly suggest we focus less on justifying past actions and more on making it clear how and why you intend not to be that much of a problem again, irregardless of right or wrong. ♥

You mean, the recent interaction of bwoinking me for playing the game like an antag when I was a traitor?  I think that's pretty severely misguided, but by all means. If you're going to keep people out of the discord for being salty in deadchat, you're going to have far, far fewer people in the discord.

You blew up cloning , killed hop all on low pop aka 6 people playing including yourself. Killing people and disabling cloning with 0 kill objectives is not creative. From what i saw on top of that , you beheaded the hop. You need to be more creative as antag in general.

So you're suggesting I not have my ability to play security returned and not be allowed to rejoin the discord because I didn't play antag in a way you liked?  That doesn't seem fair to me.  I'm sorry if I'm not creative enough for you, but that doesn't seem especially relevant towards the appeal whatsoever.
