Reason for ID ban: Used name 'Fox Kun' and said Owo in chat. 

Admin who banned: Ragolution

Length Banned: Indeterminate

Appeal Reason: Read below


Here's how it went down.
Upon my infraction, I was admin messaged. The admin told me to change my name and refrain from using emoticons anymore or they would identity ban me. 
I complied and planned to do so. Unfortunately, time didn't permit me to do it right away. I had to disconnect, so I decided I would fix it the next time I joined the station. 
Come that day, I had already been ID banned. I imagine this is just a precautionary measure made on the admin's part. Good on them for playing it safe. 
This appeal is my official means of asking to have the ID ban lifted since it is now unnecessary. 

Side Note: At the time of the infraction, my understanding had been that Owo is closer to an abbreviated expression (e.g. lol) than an emoticon (e.g. :3) and was therefore okay to say in IC chat.

both of those are not okay to say in chat (Except for IC textual chat, like the PDA messaging service)

Either way if someone doesn't want you to use a name and banned you from that identity, why do you want to be unbanned from it if you're not supposed to use said identity?

does being identity banned in any way prohibit you from using that slot? that's the only reason i could imagine an identity ban would actually need lifted unless you're trying to get a clear record. so yeah, does being identity banned impact your play in any way?

Strangely, judging by what's been said, I might not actually have an ID ban. Instead, it seems I've been outright banned from customizing my character, on any profile.
Upon opening up the customization screen, I see this message:
"You are banned from using custom names and appearances. You can continue to adjust your characters, but you will be randomised once you join the game."
Very odd.
May I please have some clarification of this by an admin?

Oh... huh. Admittedly i've never seen a ban like that used. ok then that's a fair request, but it's ultimately up to whoever banned which was Ragolution
