BONERMASTER's ban appeal

Post by BONERMASTER »

BYOND Name: BONERMASTER

Reason Banned: Metagruded on extended by returning as golem and BoH bombing

Admin who banned: rubyflamewing

Length Banned: Permanent

Appeal Reason:

I did go against the rules, indeed. And very severely so. What I did I was one of the most disruptive actions to the entirety of the station, worsened by the absence of admins.

It was no accident. It was my attempt to shut down the station. Yet, "grief" was not my goal. It was payback for one of the greatest wrongings I was victim of, in all of my SS13 time.

Here is the full story:

I was the late-joining Captain during this round. Security was understaffed as usual, but we were playing on a nice calm extended round anyway. A demand for job changes quickly rose upon my arrival, and I went about to distribute job changes. Eventually, a mime with a witch hat appears, and demands chemistry access. As I was configuring the ID, a beepsky bot walks past and suddenly knocks her down and cuffs her up. Before my confusion could settle much further, the AI explained that the hat was contraband and illegal. To me, that sounded more of a gag by the AI than actual reasoning, so I decided to dismiss the mime as witch, to which she promptly started messaging me that she is going to overthrow me.

I ignored it, I believed it was just banter.
The round progressed quite a bit, and as I was standing in the bridge, I witnessed not just the mime, but about 3-4 People with her teleporting inside! When I saw her openly wielding a stun baton too, I thought that the situation had turned serious. I retaliated as best as I could, but I eventually got cornered and cuffed.

To her credit, I was not lethally injured at any point during this. What happened was, that I had been exiled to the golem ship, and nobody seemed to follow back to me. Which worked in my favour. As I uncuffed myself, I heard them declare that I was overthrown and a new Captain will now be taking charge of the station. As fate would have it, I had with me the hand-teleporter and the only available beacon of the station, the bridge. Slightly flustered over what just happened, I risked it, and stood in the middle of around 6-7 people now. I was deadsure that we got actual revs at this point, and just zipped out as fast as I could, dodging tasers and firing back. Not sure what happened during right afterwards, but I managed to shake them off and was safely in brig.

It is around this time, that the slimeball of a HOP arrives on the station. He sees the huge commotion that was still ongoing in bridge, and asks very confused what was going on. I extremely rashly make it clear that we got revs, and start grabbing the mindshield-implants and laying out our strategy. It did not appear in my mind, that this huge mob would go to such lengths to storm me, if they were merely innocents. He does not seem to get any of it, and continues to be befuddled. I actually get to meet the mime and one of her helpers inside the permabrig, I don't know when they got stuffed into there. I think, great, let's start implanting these guys for a start, and as I make my entry, the mime is able to teleport herself away, somehow. Not risking to chase after her, I decide to instead implant the one guy we have on our hands, and it is around this time, that one of the admins messages me and asks me if the mime tried to overthrow me.

I slowly learn, that we did not infact have revs. It was all self-antagging to the extreme. But I was cool with it, I did not want the admin to hand out bans, it did liven up the round afterall, and I decided to just deal with it IC. As far as the mime is concerned from my perspective, not really what caused me to eventually tip over completely. I had no further issues with her after this point. It is important to note, that the admin was from hereon no longer present.

The slimeball of a HOP, is the real reason why this station got blown up. After the commotion seemed to settle down, this peabrained goon started to think, I was getting abusive with the crew for no reason. Even after I eventually briefed him in on the complete detail of what had happened, he dismissed it, and bought the endless tirades of the mob that had stormed the bridge with the mime. I should have demoted him right then and there, because I knew that it would eventually lead to his betrayal. But I did not want to cause even more of an commotion, I trusted that he would at least act in accordance to the CoH / Space law, and not fuck things up further. But oh boy, that trust was very misplaced.

You must understand, at this point, we got quite a bit of traffic on the radio, and the mob is blasting in full force that I should be violently removed, that I am a bloodthirsty tyrant and so on. I decided, the next step of action was to restore order and stop the flagrant calls for mutiny over the radio. My first target was the Quartermaster, that stood out to me because of his high volume headset and livid demands of my forceful removal.

I tried to avoid an over-escalation by starting off with a simple demotion, and replace the positions with more fitting persons. The Quartermaster cried abuse over the radio, how I was going to kill him and simple non-sense, even though I had announced his demotion over the radio, as did the wretched HOP.

But that awful, godawful HOP had a plan of his own. As I went about to configure his ID, the disgusting HOP said "Sorry, I have to do this. It is for the best." and takes me down with a taser. I am baffled for a good two seconds after this happens, and then try to call out the fucking HOP as going rogue. He then drags me into the Captain's office, where I am fully stripped down and despite me making it clear that what he is doing is absolutely wrong, he would have none of it. He explained the logic behind his tiny brain, that clearly the crew did not want me, and he would still not understand what was going on, but I just had to go, it would be the best for everyone. He then dragged me all the way to the labor console, a security officer saw me dragged around by the HOP, and despite my reaally frantic calls for help, did not do anything. On the console, he looses his grip on me, and I try to make a break for it, rushing into maintenance, but all the exits were blocked, and was overwhelmed again. This imbecile then states, that he "tried to be nice, but now he has to kill me" and slashes my body with the captain's sabre, until my head comes off!

He proudly proclaims, that he had killed the captain, and I was not to be revived. Nobody took an issue with it, or was unable to resist it, the security force consisted of only one member at this point. He justified it by saying, how I had tried to kill half of the station, how I attempted to fight him, and I was a very shitty captain to begin with, he just lied out of his mouth all the false-hoods in the world just to validate his murderboner.

No admin was online to be contacted. I did not have access to the discord. I did not have the trust, that the admins would look into this case if I made a complaint, and deal out the proper punishment for what had happened. I decided, against that kind of over-stepping of the rules, I had to fight back in equal manner.

I  then took control of the only remaining fateful golem on the ship. I was able to board the station, and pondered what I was going to do. I wanted to take out the traitorous HOP and his newfound traitor friends, with which he sided with. What made things even worse, that this creature in a hop suit then thought fashionable to make a show out of my head and proudly displayed it infront of the bridge, a signal that a madman had been stopped and now sensible people were in charge. The sheer amount of stupidity he exhibited during all of this just gave me more resolve to do what I did. To make it brief, I tried to lub a conventional grenade into the office, but don't ask me how, but the grenade was just -stuck- to my hand and despite frantic clicking and setting throw-intent, would not go off, so that was a very disgraceful, shameful attack from my part. However, I had scanned myself in genetics prior, and was promptly cloned. I figured, I will not have another shot to pull this off, I don't have access to weapons and I will not be able to use the chemistry lab now. For me, the only option left was to wipe out the station with the singularity, and force the round to end.

It was here then, that an admin did appear and asked for what had happened. I confessed to him that I had done it, but it was impossible to relay the extend of backstabbing, abuse and grief that I was subjected to within a few sentences. Only what I have written here, does the copious amounts of griefing justice.

I am not a griefer. On the contrary, I fight grief when I can. Especially as HOS I am very intolerant against greytides and extensive amount of shitlery, and take measures as far as I can without overstepping my competences, that they are not hurting other people any longer. In the light of such extreme rule-breaking however, which lead to me completely unjustified being wiped out, not just from command, but from partaking in the round as a whole, I could not let such injustice go to pass without fighting back. Something had to be done.

I will take the responsibility for what I did, and accept the punishment that is handed out to me. But my only request is, that those who led me to this point, that deliberately and without cause killed me and made a mockery out of my remains, are brought to justice as well.

I can't argue for what was done (That is a sordid tale) but I DO know this guy from Yogs. Not only is he a presence on station but on the forums as well. I am more than willing to vouch for him and say this is not indictive of his normal behavior.

I was confused when I saw his name pop up for a ban appeal, and even MORE so when I saw the ban reason. I would absolutely shorten this ban, bur if you guys don't we might be able to get him back so don't be too hasty > :)

So I was called in because someone who got murdered picked golem from the golem ship, and double BoH bombed the station in revenge for what happened. Straightforward metagrudge, you even admitted it so I didn't have to go digging through logs. Open and shut case.

Now you're saying someone was explicitly breaking the rules and you didn't want them banned, and that's how all of this even went the route it did?

Give me some time to process that, sorry. My brain's trying to comprehend this, give me a bit of time.
It is only waffer thin.

As I said, it was not the mime, who initially started the mutiny, which lead to the destruction, it was the dog of a HOP, who was completely unrelated to the entire chain of events to that point, and went out of his way to take me out of the game and realizing, that he had no real grounds to do so, made up as many lies as possible to justify it to the crew.

If it was just the mime that finally got me and would have triggered me into doing that, you'd have a point. But, and I repeat, it was someone completely unrelated that had no clue what was going on and just jumped & killed me, because he felt like it. And I was not just a assistant in a grey suit, I was the captain.
