Reason Banned: De-Whitelisted: Ban ordered by: Kersakof (Muffet), As a Captain, butchered a miner and mime for refusing orders and refusing to get scanned. Mime tried to keep a miner away from being scanned after saying they didn't want to, Captain tried to force them being scanned multiple times, and then they threatend the mime's life with no prior punishment. Recommend de-whitelisting and possibly a headban.

Appeal Reason: I believe that this ban is overly harsh, plain and simple. That I fucked up and deserve a punishment, I will not argue. But a permanent ban, when the issue is escalation, seems to be a bit too much. I also fail to see where attempting to forcescan our only miner with 5 people on is an issue. And when the mime twice refuses a direct order, I, and Kersakof who first messaged me, agree that they should be punished for it. At the time of the fight, the only nonlethal weapon I had, my energy gun, was nearly out of charge, which I could see. My only choice there was to ask the mime to come with me to the brig, which given their history of refusing orders they would have no doubt refused, or else physical punishment. In either case, I very much doubted that Wolfy, who she'd spent the entire shift with, wouldn't have interfered in the mime's favor. In that situation, what was I to do? One pair of cuffs, a sword, and my egun with enough energy for three disablers versus a miner and a mime, with a KA amost certainly and a crusher.

Neglected was me healing Wolfy with a legion core, right before she started repeatedly tabling me and kicking me. I didn't want to kill her, or the mime, but if I didn't act in self-defense, I would have been killed instead. I killed them both down after, which may have been over the line, but at the time I was still freaking out a bit at having to fight two people in close quarters. Immediately after, I brought the both of them to cloning, though both refused scans. I didn't just kill them out of nowhere, and throw their bodies onto lava, I brought them to medical as soon as I reasonably could, and started trying to fix them.


In short, I agree that I fucked up, but gives the situation, my lack of supplies, and the fact I was outnumbered, I believe I started the fight fairly. I agree that I need to be punished for fucking up, but a de-whitelisting and a headban seems to be WAY too excessive for my first offense, in my opinion. If my opinion matters here at all, I would be perfectly fine with a headban, a ban from security, and possibly a three day ban.

If it were possible to bring a log of the round in, that would be wonderful.

I'm supporting Leon, it's bullshit that the punishment is THAT harsh. Give Leon a week ban or something, not a fucking dewhitelist from the RP server and a headban.

If the mime tried to kill you for a lawful arrest you could adminhelp and get them removed instead, although you immediately undermined all legitimacy by threatening to delimb them for a medium (two minute) crime.

this is where you are wrong and this is why you are dewhitelisted. This kind of stuff /might/ be acceptable on the main server, or at least definitely not permaban material, but the entire purpose of the whitelist server is to be distinct from the main server. It literally says in the application that you must follow the rules perfectly.

this is where you are wrong and this is why you are dewhitelisted. I didn't threaten to take the mime's life, I threatened to take an arm. From a slimeperson who can regenerate limbs, no less,  but I digress. And yes, I feel it's self-defense when they walks towards me with an axe in a cramped mining pod when I'm half-dead. And, again, how was I going to be able to lawfully arrest her in that situation? I have 1 nearly dead egun and one pair of cablecuffs versus her and a miner, who've been together on lavaland all shift, probably erping and definitely friendly to each other. In that situation, with the items I had, how should I have gone about that? Am I supposed to simply back down and let them walk all over whatever authority the captain is allowed to have so they can sit in the pod and continue their session while shirking their duties, in the case of the miner?


Regardless of whether this appeal does anything or not, is it possible to be eventually let back onto the server? I enjoyed my time here much more than I did my time on the main server.

that was a quote from the ban reason, i was mostly just contrasting the fact that you opened with delimbing threats to the claim of self-defense. all of this stuff would be fine on a low-rp server. it is not fine on the whitelist server. you absolutely do not have the right to start chopping people apart for disobeying your orders. your inability to recognize this makes me hesitant about allowing you back.

I do recognize that I fucked up and deserve a punishment for it. I just feel that a permaban is a bit excessive for my first offense. Would a lighter sentence be alright, by any chance?

it's only a ban from the whitelist server but we'll think about it i guess. imo doing anything concretely wrong should lead to dewhitelisting under the premises of its founding, but the other admins might not agree with me on that.

i never play on the rp server tbh so i kinda don't want to make this decision anyway, i'll let the admins that actually use it decide whether or not they're up for dealing with it

well none of the people i showed this to posted so i guess i'm going to handle it after all, the server ban will be lifted but you're staying banned from heads on the whitelist server indefinitely
