Shawn's Ban Appeal

Reason Banned: "Got into a mech on the shuttle. Proceeded to shoot at everything and everyone. Shuttle hasn't evne left the station. Admitted to be doing this for shits and giggles. Other notes state he forcibly monkeyed people as a nonantag and other things like this. Permabanned."

Appeal Reason: Unfair ban time, was not given a chance to defend myself even after apologizing. Was not shooting anything but a single gas tank in an empty room. In the context of what was happening within the round, it wasn't even a big deal.




Hello,

I was not given the chance to explain myself to subtumaka before they dropped the banhammer. So I'm doing it now. It was the end of a long extended round and people were doing much worse things, so I had assumed that a little bit of fooling around wasn't off the table. On the shuttle, I got into my mech and shot the welding gas tank in an empty room. I didn't try to kill anyone, nor did  I really hurt anyone as a result of the explosion. Also, I wasn't "shooting at everything and everyone". I stopped as soon as the tank exploded.

After being messaged by subtumaka, I said sorry, but was quickly permabanned. Within the context of the chaos in the round, I thought that a measly welder fuel explosion would have been acceptable and funny. Once again, I never tried to kill anyone.

On a side note, I think it's a good thing that subtumaka brought up my other ban that happened over two months ago. I learned my lesson last time and I never forcibly monkeyed anyone again.

It wont happen again.

So I was on that shuttle. Already dealing with like two dudes being shits all round. You got into a DURAND, equipped with a laser cannon and various other combat related things. You immediately used your mech to shoot weldertank on the shuttle. I can confirm this killed at least one crew member and injured various others. 
Why would you think it would in any way be accepted to shoot and explosive ordinance on a populated escape shuttle on extended, as a non-antag? Given the chaos the round, what made you think it was okay to add to it? "because I thought it was funny" is not an acceptable answer.
I am willing to lower the permaban to 4 days but that is in the very least as you did pretty much shuttle grief.

Can confirm, you did in fact blow my arm off and kill me while I was in a sleeper in the shuttle medbay. After the fact that there was shitlery going on with mechs the entire round, I'm being honest here, you shouldn't have decided it was a good idea to welderbomb the shuttle using a fully equipped durand.
