Reason Banned: Suicide by grenade in hall
Admin who banned: Sectoid Dan
Appeal Reason: Suicide by grenade in hall, away from others so as not to damage them but close enough for them to witness. I killed myself because my chemistry partner had created a semen grenade that I had accidentally detonated in my hand. In my disgust, for RP reasons, I felt that it was appropriate to eviscerate myself via explosion, as the horrors of what had happened were etched permanently within my character's mind. When someone pulled my body to the cloning device, I clicked the re-enter corpse link and my game crashed because of it. I reconnected once, saw that I could rejoin game as a different role, but decided not to. Never got the notification for Bwoinking so I just disconnected and decided to rejoin later, to which I saw this ban. I understand that damaging the ship as a non-antag would be against the rules, though at the time I felt that reason for blowing myself up was sufficient for the admin checking the logs.

So you blew up part of the station because somehow you thought blowing yourself up was a reasonable response to getting splashed with semen? I can't even tell you how dumb that sounds just typing it, much less actually doing it.

While it's ultimately not my call, I'd personally lean on reducing this to a week, since you broke our rule about not self antagging, and staying in character. Though that's the banning admin's call to make in the end.

Re-entering your corpse causing crashes and other weird things is a known issue, and you did the right thing after reconnecting.

I'll say that suiciding, and blowing yourself up in particular, is generally frowned upon unless you have a very good reason for it. Doing it in a public hallway with a lot of throughput, even if there's nobody else around at the time, makes it even worse. That said it wasn't a very big explosion, and getting you to explain yourself was really the only reason behind this ban, so I'll be reducing it to a dayban for bombing as a non-antag and for suiciding with a very low RP reason.

Do note that blowing yourself up because you touched semen isn't really something a reasonable person would do, so you may want to re-read rule 3 and think more carefully about how you act in-character in the future. This is meant to be a medium roleplay server, please act accordingly.
