Tl;dr: I was a complete and utter dipshit on multiple levels, namely breaking rule 9.6: “Using vore mechanics on someone without OOC consent is a bannable offense.â€

Appeal Reason: Long story short, what happened was an uncharacteristic mistake I made that devolved into a big mess. I was tired and not thinking, didn’t know how to properly use the mechanics, panicked, and let things get out of hand, turning what could have been a good scene into an uncomfortable LRP experience. I’m glad I’ve gotten the chance to talk with the ahelping player, and we’ve both found an understanding with one another. As it turns out, the player's biggest concern was that I gave a very LRP performance, and that they they were against digestion. Due to both of our forgetfulness and despite it being against their prefs, I left my character's digestion and their character's digestibility on from previous encounters. They'll post their piece here after me and give their two cents. But I’d like to return with the promise that the same mistake won’t happen twice, and that I’ll go back to upholding my HRP standards to a “Tâ€. I just want to go back to continue having fun and making new friends who I’ve come to greatly enjoy. I’m more than aware of the consequences if I slip up like that again.
For a bit of background, my character was having a somewhat difficult and frustrating conversation with their partner in the bar, which stressed them out a little. During this conversation, the Teshari Vakashi ran up to my character and turbo-spammed headpats on my character who proceeded to growl as a first warning, and told them verbally to fuck off. They didn’t, so my character turned to chase them off. Overall it was an LRP experience on my end, but I brushed it off as they had left the round after that encounter and that was on me. If anyone has ever encountered turbospam actions, there’s very little time to respond to the actions before the character either continues to fill your screen with said spam, run off, or escalate like a greytider unless you’re lucky and they’re a player who’s trying to learn better. Shortly after a second Teshari, Ray, came around to do the same. Needless to say, no one would be okay with a stranger coming up to them and petting their head like that, run away, and then have another to repeat the process when they were already upset beforehand.
Considering the nature of the server, I’ve discovered that it’s not uncommon for “vore baitâ€, or micros, to sit around macros when they’re hungry or pester them into getting fed up and wanting to teach the micro a “lessonâ€. Usually I’d check prefs, then ask in LOOC if it’s okay if I do an action or if they were looking for a scene, and it’s not too hard to figure out where it goes from there. I am personally not interested in vore sexually as I use it more for realism- eating mice and “disciplining†micros, like how adult dogs would put their mouth over a particularly annoying pup as a display of dominance and telling them to cut it out. I’ve interacted with K’vhas similarly where they’d irritate my character, and with their consent, my character would put them in their mouth until K’vhas yielded either out of a misled fear of their well-being or just the gross conditions and leave my character alone (who would shortly spit them out and have a good laugh at the soggy Kobold), making for a fun interaction. At some point in time I was introduced to the “deeper†vore mechanics and taught them by another player for a particular scene that they wanted, but forgot to turn them off or even how to do so as it’s been several, several months and I did not realize it would become a problem until now.
My character intended to do much the same to Ray, however I made several large, uncharacteristic mistakes. While they were looking for a scene, I essentially greytided the player. I failed to check their metainfo, and communicate with them both ICly and OOCly. We played chicken in the science/hydroponics/bar hall (which I will admit, was quite a bit of dumb fun despite my character’s frustration with theirs) where they gave a pat-and-dodge which wouldn’t allow me to get a proper RP’d reaction in without being constantly interrupted, so I knocked them down, put them in what I thought was my character’s mouth (which as the ban says, was actually an “unsafe†stomach), and walked off to the nearby BDSM dungeon. During this time they struggled in the character’s gut which, despite my having the stomach to “holdâ€, started the digestion process and it confounded me that even though I repeatedly reset it back to hold, it still kept trying to digest them which was the opposite of my intent. Not realizing the extensive damage it was doing to the victim, Ray used the radio for help and I ICly/OOCly panicked, trying to get them to the room to chain them up to to the bed try and get them to stay still and be quiet so my character and I could explain that it was an accident. But first they needed to be healed, so my character went to run off to the other dungeon across the hall for the medical kit, only to be caught after a chase, processed, and brigged.
In the time that it took the ahelp to be handled and my talking to the player, I managed to work with another admin and the player to figure out how to get the “deeper†vore mechanics working again and figure out why the other character was still being digested despite my attempts to set it to “holdâ€. But if I am allowed back, I’m going to remove, disable, and completely turn off “belly interactions†functions, and for the characters who do want an “unsafe bellyâ€, I’m going to make a second stomach saved all the way at the end for that kind of stuff with the mechanics off until it’s used and turn it off after all’s said and done. I’m also going to kick myself and actually keep up on checking information and communicating both ICly and OOCly. I’ve been able to do so for all the months that I’ve played, but the one time I slipped up it was a major fault and it bit me in the ass for it big time. I understand that I won’t be allowed to make the same mistake twice because that would mean that I’d honestly be gone for good. No ifs, ands, or appeals whatsoever.
I’ve since gone back to re-read the server rules, talked more with the ahelping player and apologized to them for making the experience altogether unpleasant for them. We’ve come to an understanding with one another and more or less came to the conclusion together that it was just an accident that turned into a major fuckup, and I cannot blame them for ahelping me, nor am I upset at them or the admin that handled the ahelp. They both did the right thing. I acted out of line and regrettably made someone uncomfortable, and it was handled accordingly to server rules. I’ve since tried to make it up to the player for the lack of RP with a proper session on Discord, and I hope it was at least enjoyable for them the second time around. I just wish I had two brain cells to rub together that night to stop and think so that an off night wouldn’t have had ended in such a disaster not just for me, but it being my fault for ruining someone else’s as well.
I did what I did because I was having an off night and simply not thinking, but that isn’t an excuse and doesn’t make it acceptable in the slightest. I wasn’t responsible and made someone uncomfortable, and even if this is just a game, it’s still a pretty damn serious offense that I did. I’ve never meant to upset someone to that level and cause trouble, and I’m genuinely, sincerely sorry to both the player I’ve offended and the staff that had to deal with me for the incident, and I hope both are willing to forgive me. If not, with the severity of the offence, as much as I want to continue to enjoy the game with my friends and have fun with others, I can understand.
If more information is needed, feel free to let me know and I’ll do my best to give it, but I lost the logs after power went out at my house during a storm and I was so exhausted during the event that my memory is a bit hazy regarding exact details.
To those who want to comment, please keep it to this OOC incident only. This this was due to my OOC actions, and NOT my character’s IC actions due to the nature of the incident. If you weren’t there for it, please keep the thread clear for the ahelping player, the responding admin, and me. Thank you.
