Ban appeal for Tatchi

Greetings,Â
I would like to have some help with this ban appeal.
BYOND Name: Tatchi
Reason Banned: Suspected multikeying
Admin who banned: Girdo
Length Banned: Temporary ban suddenly converted to Permaban?
Appeal Reason:Â
Me and my roommate were playing yesterday night. Having a blast till Girdo messaged my roommate. Until being told about suspected multikeying.Â
After explaining we are roommates and sharing the same IP, Girdo still put a temporary ban on beyond user Snow030 for a day. After day passed, losing my RP partner and trying to log in with my account (Tatchi) the messaged popped up that Girdo issued a PERMA BAN. This seems like a big misunderstanding and i hope this can be clarified as soon as possible.

Righto. I was the admin who issued the ban, and while I'm still conflicted over it because you have a plausible story, here's the issues from my side:
After the server pinged the admins that you were sharing an IP, I started monitoring you. I noticed that, whether by coincidence or not, when one of your characters was still and silent (usually in maintenance or a closet), the other account's character was moving around fine. Both accounts have similar creation dates. In 99% of cases, this points to someone multikeying using two different Client IDs. Whether you were the 1% or not, I was unsure.
I messaged both you and your room-mate about it. Both of you ignored the PM. You both ignored three different admin-PMs on the server (which are both in giant bolded red text and accompanied by a loud BWOINK). Due to being ignored, I moved both you and the suspected multikey, your room-mate, to adminprison to figure out what was going on and why I wasn't getting an answer.
You, tatchi, proceeded to disconnect rather than answering questions. Your roommate stayed online and provided the story about you sharing an IP. Due to not getting your side of the story, I chose to treat the situation as if I had found someone confirmed as a multikeyer- permabanning the "alt" account and temp-banning the other.
I'm fine with lifting this ban, since your story IS plausible.
I'm just utterly bewildered how you managed to ignore three different admin-PMs to you, and then decided to immediately disconnect when you were adminprisoned for ignoring said questioning.

It was late at night and we both pretty much had too much to drink. I made sure to let my roommate handle it since he said he had it covered. It had to do with our IP, so even then if one account got banned from the server the other wouldn't be able to play anyway. Even so you can't know whats happening irl.
With that said i'm glad you're lifting this ban. Just thought you gave out a temporary ban so i was confused as to what happened since my roommates story and this perma ban didn't add up. I never heard about multikeying before, but it does seem to be an pretty big issue in this game when people share the same ip on different devices. Basically you can't seem to play in the same house. Furthermore our connection to the server is pretty bad, since we are living in europe and the server seems to be in the US. This might be why the movement patterns are so unstable. It's hard to do combat in the game as it is.
Not sure about the multiple admins questioning, i haven't seen it myself. My roommate however told me you were the only one messaging him at that time. Still have my IP banned it seems. The story was already plausible when my roommate explained the situation to you. If you perma ban the IP then a temporary ban on one account would be pretty much useless since the IP can't be used anymore. Because we are roommates then one account could not play anyway since the other has been banned. You told my roommate it would be a temporary ban, but instead deal out a permaban even when the whole situation about sharing an IP was explained to you and the story was deemed plausible.
EDIT:
I was willing to wait a day since you voiced your doubts to my roommate. Unlike my roommate i have been eager to play again though. I've been waiting for more than an hour now for this ban to be lifted like you said you would.
UPDATE:
You tell me i disconnected instead of answering questions, but just now you decided to opt out rather than resolve the situation. I admit it was a fault on my part though that i let my roommate handle it instead of staying on, but it was about 2AM at night and we were both tired. Another admin was kind enough to help me get unbanned after reading this thread. Thank you for your time.
