Honestly, the reason I went after the shadekin as security was not because I have an insatiable bloodlust to destroy them. Yes, I dislike them, but my dislike for them hardly convinces me to destroy them at first sight. 

My intention when going after it was primarily to capture it, hence why I issued security members capture guns (which the RD was fine with when I asked for additional equipment), for the end result of capturing it for science. I'm not the kind of person that's just going to go ahead and go straight to the kill button without good reason for doing so. Yes, I have displayed IC reprehension for them before, but the only instances of me actually chasing them down have been two as security, inter spaced by roughly over a weeks time. Both times I organized capture parties for science using only non-lethal weaponry because up until this point I have been operating under the assumption that as security, it is part of my job to contain any potential risks to the station, shadekin are an unknown entity and thus pose a risk. Bhjin was kind enough to finally put the clarification down however.

I was additionally under the general rule of thumb with interactions and scenes, that if they are carried out in a public space/accessable area that isnt the dorms then they accept the risk of unwanted interaction.

Furthermore once I had gotten validation that the shadekin was now doing scenes privately outside of the public areas, I simply dropped my hunt for them, u-turned it completely, I lied that I had killed it in order to bring the station back down to green alert and put the incident behind us.

I do not believe a jobban is warranted in this situation, other than the two interactions I've had with them, my conduct as a sec player is held to a high standard and I make a conscious effort to keep it that way, my actions were simply the product of conflicting information on what I was allowed or not allowed to do, and not the product of validhunting for the sake of hunting valids.

Reverting this as they've made their case and have stated that they are going to work on improving their attitude.

That and the classifications of shadememes has finally been distinguished in that actual hostile red eye'd ones are more than valid salad but the neutral/"friendly" ones are to be considered as a non-combatant until they prove otherwise.
