BYOND Name of complaint against: ZeroNetAlpha

Your BYOND name: ArmouredHarpy

Date of issue and round ID: 06/08/2018 - RP server

Reason for complaint:

This issue crosses several rounds and places so I'll try to summarize them all.

Firstly: The attitude to which this administrator deals with situations (thus far in my contact with them) has been nothing short of hostile and inconsiderate towards me. I can certainly appreciate being Admin PM'd when and if I do something wrong, but I do not appreciate being spoken down to like a child. I find this attitude towards admin-player communication to be highly inappropriate.

My first experience of this was ahelping being murdered by a Search and Rescue at the end of a shift, to which my issue was dealt with by basically being told 'suck it up and dont interact with each other', instead of actually dealing with the issue it was swept under the rug. Whilst I appreciate in hindsight that there was a bigger issue going on at the time and that my responses to the ahelp weren't exactly pristine either, again, the attitude displayed towards me was exceptionally poor. The Second time was during the round I have provided an example of below, where I was spoken down to and subject to poor treatment, approached in an accusatory manner and then showing apparently no interest in considering my defense.

"[GameAdmin PM] ZeroNetAlpha: For that matter, why were you out of the brig earlier, with lethals, on a green shift?
[GameAdmin PM] ZeroNetAlpha: Because that, for sure, is against SOP for security.
[GameAdmin PM] ZeroNetAlpha: Did you even try to use your radio?
[GameAdmin PM] ZeroNetAlpha: Did you use your SECURITY radio
[GameAdmin PM] ZeroNetAlpha: Not the green channel that EVERYONE was clogging up.
[GameAdmin PM] ZeroNetAlpha: Well, i'm going to give you some time away from security so you can learn and take the corporate regulations and standard opperating procedures to heart."

This brings me onto my second point.

Following the above I was then job banned from all of security for what was very clearly a one off incident which I tried my hardest to explain was driven by situational thinking (carrying the shotgun armed with non-lethal stun rounds out of the brig and failing to talk over the radio at one point during the round". With absolutely no consideration to my prior good record and a complete dismissal of any attempts to defend myself I was treated like some consistent sec griefer. I believe the admin is far too hasty to apply punitive measures and excise their privilege on players, especially for IC issues that require minimal administrative intervention.

Which then leads to my third issue, which may not be breaking any rules, however I find it highly inappropriate and nothing more than a spark to 'name and shame' people

I wont lie, I got frustrated at an IC issue and instead of handling it I let my frustration get the better of me and quit. It was my bad and I accept that. However I dont appreciate bringing player-admin interactions into the public-RP chats like that. All it does is create drama and isnt really something that should be exposed for everyone to see without context behind it for them to make conjecture and come to conclusions about myself.
Additionally they have brought up an issue beforehand in the Discord server, making it part of a public discussion and then threatening, and then placing a chat block on a user (Sk1TZ) for commenting on it. Despite the fact they could have avoided the entire issue by taking the discussion to an appropriate places such as Direct Messages with the involved user.

All in all, I find this to be crude, unecessary and bordering on a 'my way or the highway' method of adminning where instead of being bound by actual rules, administration is bound by whim and opinion.

I will give ZeroNetAlpha credit where they are due, they are generally polite and well-mannered and are enjoyable to play with for the most part. They have produced effective administrative results and honestly I have nothing against them, I simply find issue in how the prosecute their administrative privilege against players that I have thus far seen and been on the receiving end of and do not understand why they choose to take this attitude towards me when I have, to my knowledge, done little to deserve it.

I will be more than happy to have my complaint proven invalid, I simply wish to have it heard.

I'm sorry, you're right. I was heavy handed and a bit hot-headed when I was interacting with you. I'll adjust behavior accordingly.
