Reason for complaint: Cash was captain at the time and it was during a blue-shift. I was playing miner that shift and was there for most of the shift, a few trips back to drop off my ores and check around the station a bit, I'd say around five minutes of the round at max. I had sent a PDA to the clown for him to meet me in the cargo area, wanting to give him some bananium for a honk mech, not knowing later that he would be found to be a confirmed traitor. A good hour or so into the round I return to the station again, only this time Cash is on a secway outside the mining door talking to Sasha, and as soon as I walk inside I get blasted point blank with a disabler spread gun. I don't play sec little if at all, so I don't know what most of the guns can do, and given his wordless approach I started firing back with my plasma cutter. Right behind him ran in the QM with a dual e-sword, that turned out to be a toy, hard to tell in the heat of the moment. 
So given my self defense in a communication-less situation, once they had me cuffed and downed I agreed to the bag search, and gave them my reason for contacting the clown. The kicker is I wasn't even a antag, yet I get perma and the captain is given no flak for this at all, and I'm not given a chance to defend my case. 

Basically, as sec/ playing as a sec when in a position of power. I think it unfair to give me such a sentence with the lack of evidence and the understandable reaction to being blasted by what for all I know, could be a changeling or another antag.

Heya, Cash here. Was trying to explain this ICly, but serb crashed during. Code blue, have already been attacked twice, one putting me in hard crit. Shift started with me finding out clown is a traitor with holopara. I was going to leave the issue to Sec, but Darket decided to suicide or something, so I was in charge. Sydney, the Warden, bitched Cash out ICly about being a wuss and not protecting his crew, which made me be like "fine I'll get the bad guys". Syd announces over comms clown is a traitor, we take down clown, PDA messages from miner saying to come to cargo blah blah. I see miner pass in hall, spam point at them and try to flag them down as they book it to lavaland. So, I wait in mining for them to come so I may search them. They arrive , I use a disabler on them, they retaliate with a cutter to my leg, then the QM walks in with their desword memes. I dragged Midnight to Sec, searched them, was ready to release them as the Warden basically says "We had a confirmed traitor and the public was informed, and the miner wanted to talk to them privately, then cut off your leg when getting searched. I told her to do what she sees fit, in which they processed them to perma. That entire round was a cluster fuck, between holopara clown, chemical boxed + dart pistol chemist, and literal greytide coming up to stab me saying "We come from Hippie", I honestly was all over the place, as a lot was happening at once.


I'm sorry things went down how they did, and can understand why you are upset. I was planning on coming back to deal with the situation ICly (since I was going to release you after the search anyways, despite missing leg), I know I took longer than I should have to return, but there were many distractions. If you would want to, I still want to talk ICly with you about this. If you'd rather not, I get it, and will respect your choice. But, yeah, you seemed real shady, had PDA messages with a confirmed traitor to meet up, and ran when I tried to flag you down ((although new sound may have made you miss seeing it with tiny text)), and cut my leg off. I can see where you were coming from to do that, please try to understand my situation as well. If you'd like to pm me over Discord, feel free. It is Darkseed#7048 . Just like with other sec members my biggest issue is the lack of attention or communication, from my memory I never saw you in the halls myself, the tiny text might have made me miss it. (One of the servers fantastic additions.) 

Talking "privately." was asking to meet with a traitor in a very open space, cargo, over a PDA. Self defense is a modifier for space law and given the blunt way of just going gun hoe I'd say that was very justified. Per usual the lawyer role (Assistant with a suit.) was completely ignored and I sat there until the server crashed. I'm sick of how easy it is to harass one another here, from sec abusing their power to crew just being shitters for the meme. 

If you are in a position of power that your role gives you, don't abuse it and most certainly don't let people below you in command run you. The only solid evidence you had on me was self defense, acting shady isn't a crime, and honestly I was hardly doing so. Given I was on lavaland for most the shift, and merely just wanted to talk to the clown. Someone off station might miss a piece of info about a traitor quite easily while dealing with Ash Drakes or Goliaths. Combat swarms the chat, and the mining shuttle shuts comms off completely.

I'll leave things here for a admins decision or whatever outcome may happen. Heading to bed now.

There was little communication since the only competent person in the Sec department /was/ the Warden. We had two other officers, one went off to erp (I think?), and the other one went around chasing Hatter the entire round for crawling through rubber flaps.

All I saw was a miner messaging a confirmed antag to come to the place where they can take a shuttle to a place I cannot reach them. The lawyer was told to leave after I had been boinked, I was trying to explain to you the situation, but you were not willing to listen. I was starting to talk in LOOC as the server died on us, as I wanted to resolve the problem I wasn't trying to 'harass' you, I'll be honest, I had 0 interest in even talking to you, let alone wanting to harass, as I don't think we've ever talked before, even once. Cash was a very tired Cap, after literally just surviving two attempts on his life, and was just wanting to resolve the bullshit. I wasn't letting the Warden command me, more so than let them run their department at least somewhat with my assistance.

The part that incriminated you in the eyes of Sec was firing the cutter. Up until that point, there was no hard evidence. There had been many attempts on my life already that shift, and that put you in the same boat with all of them. Lethal weapons to defend against Security/command disabling is not self defense. Don't get me wrong, I see where you are coming from, but that was shot was just seriously a bad idea IC (as you saw). Especially considering the other events unfolding on station.

Right my stance on this would always be, if you fire on security or attack them and accidently help an antag you better hope they're nice enough to give you the benefit of the doubt, especially with a lethal weapon capable of delimbing.

I never even met the clown, I was asking to speak to them in person, there was no help given to the clown what so ever. And I fired on the cap, not sec, because they shot me without a word several times. You can even seen in the logs where I ask what the fuck, and keep getting shot. With the response being "Welp."

Shooting the captain is not exactly better than shooting security.

I always thought captain wasn't exactly meant to be Security. If this a all well and good situation next time I'll just lay down and take whatever shots I get I guess. Given self defense has been thrown out the window completely, much like the lawyer as job.

They're not but they can be if they want as long as they don't powergame too hard
However shooting them and saying they aren't meant to be default security sounds dumb because you just shot the guy in charge of the entire station and you're saying that is better than shooting the people keeping the peace

It was shooting in relation to being shot. Self defense of suddenly getting point blank blasted by a gun, even if it was stamina damage. At the time I didn't know that.
