RE: Admin Complaint: Unknown. + Discord (Contains: Shadekin)
Going to be blunt here, everything K5 related that I have seen here on the forums of my short time being registered? Usually bad. I don't like you were influenced by him, even if it would be interesting role-play material. For Citadel Rp? It would yeah, make people question your mentality. Being able to influence emotions? I don't really care you're able to do that. If someone thinks that is even remotely 'cheatsy' or 'god-modding'. Genetics are a thing. Telekinesis is a thing on main. Dunno about RP. So that could tie into being able to influence someones emotions, TO AN EXTENT. If you start using it to say: Get someone to attack another? Expect an ahelp on you immediately. As long as it stays tame, no one really can ban you for it. Do others HAVE to play along with your abilities? No. But I would hope they would for basis of role-play around your character. It's unique. And everyone on the server has a big quirk about them. Look at me! Gender changing slime wolf made of chocolate. Massive tail that can change shape, and can absorbs someones nutrients (Okay that part makes sense because slime). Point being. Snowflakes aplenty. As long as this doesn't go way too far beyond proportions, it's harmless role-play. If anything about you being a shadekin, I think it'd be best if you either: Mess with the custom creation, or wait for a shadekin race that doesn't have powers (Reskined human, as the others have mentioned.). As for going back to the hatred towards shadekin? It has been a long running thing that has chased away blackmajor, and made me reluctant to ask to be one often. Expect some backlash from the mere mention of wanting to be changed into one, especially with how the lore works. That is my final thoughts on this. I don't know what more I can offer on this topic.

I'm not sure why anybody ever assumes I have the authority to decide literally anything. Ray got the telepathy through their interactions with a completely different shadekin, and I just made a plausible explanation for it later.
As for the coding thing. Adding a shadekin race is on my to-do list, but it's not high up. Even within the context of the OOC discussions I have had with Ray on the topic, I made sure to impress that I had absolutely no authority to make any of these decisions, and that my hand would, at most, create and PR the race being added to the codebase. I am under no delusions that any more could come to pass, but it made for interesting IC interactions.
Unfortunately, I forgot to account for Ray's personality, and literally everyone else's opinion of him, which caused this to explode.
Those are my two bits. I'd have thrown them in earlier, but for having set this in motion, I was surprisingly oblivious to the way it played out.
Edit because I only just realized this has been misunderstood: No, I haven't hand-picked Ray to test anything. He's inspired me to make a specific change to the code, with my interests placing him as the intended beneficiary should it come to pass. I'm perfectly fine doing my testing alone, and if I need more people to test anything I can drop a private testing server and ask people I know to help with it. Absolutely none of what I have in mind needs Citadel specifically to allow me to, save the final merge.
