BYOND ckey:Â CawingCrow
Character name:Â Gladwyn Moore
Discord username (+user id):Â Catuai#7461
Reason for application:Â Being held at gunpoint.
Please answer the following questions to the best of your abilities:
1. How would you engage with two players having an out of character altercation?
Truly depends on the topic they arguing with. If it's beneficial for everyone or wording with value, that isn't current round specific, then I definitely wouldn't interfere. This however would change, if the conversation goes for too long or slips into IC in OOC of the current round. The latter would result into a global ooc mute and a warning for said person, to prevent any further IC information leaking into OOC. Though, if it’s the former, I’d remind them to use LOOC instead of OOC and stick with them, to see what they’re up to.
If they’re unable to come to a point, then I most likely would attempt to de-escalate the situation and share my thoughts about the current problem with them.Â
When neither of my attempts work and they keep bitching, then I’d hand out temporary ooc bans and note their behaviours for future incidents.
2. What should an admin do if they're involved in a situation that needs admin intervention?
I would actively search a third party, that could judge the situation that I'm involved in. Asking an admin ingame, when one is available - if not, I would message one on Discord.
3. How should an admin determine in what way to punish someone who breaks the rules?
Depends on the context. If it was an accident or the player was intentionally breaking the rules, If the person continues its rampage or disconnects, if he was already noted for breaking rules and the amount of time said person played on citadel.Â
For example: If someone with many hours on Citadel and barely any records of being a shitter accidentally opens the valve on his max cap in toxin and blows up whole science with it, then I'd classify it as an accident and just tell said person to be more careful next time.Â
However, if someone freshly joins citadel, screams insults around and welderbombs the next person he sees, then obviously I'd perma ban him for obvious griefing.
4. Under what conditions should an admin de-admin themselves while playing?
Whenever it's secret. Otherwise, on the first sight of side antagonist to make sure you don’t gain an advantage.
5. What is expected of an admin on Citadel?
Making sure that the class room doesn't end up in a rage cage. Being the typical high school teacher, that enforces rules but also makes sure that you’re fun to work with.
