My Appeal

BYOND Name: Mobman111
Reason Banned: releasing deadly virus as non-antag, threw myself out the airlock to avoid being lynched, DC'd after, blatant griefing
Admin who banned: airinnann
Length Banned: Permanent
Appeal Reason: So I'm going to give a detailed reason as to why I should be unbanned for each of these things.
Releasing the virus: Releasing is not a word I would use for this virus, I would use a phrase such as "being unable to contain" as the virus managed to get into my body, since it had high stealth my body didn't show symptoms until my eventual infection. The disease itself was a modified version of Rhinovirus which caused death within an hour of incubation. The virus itself was never meant to escape, and after I realized its potential as a bio-weapon I did all I could to cleanse it from existence, sadly I didn't do enough as it escaped and infected most of the crew. If I released it intentionally then this ban I would understand to be permanent... however I didn't release it intentionally and kept injecting myself with Radium (read from Baystation not TG sorry I'm a retard) to try and find antibodies to synthesize a cure. There were no antibodies showing up and hope was dying fast, so one of the crew members suggested lynching me, I didn't want to suffer such a fate so I ran to the airlock to throw myself out to avoid whatever painful torture they could conjure up.
Disconnecting: I live with my roommate who has work quite early on Sundays as he works as security at a local church (he's not religious but it brings in decent money). He was already past his self-made curfew and told me to get off within ten minutes, this was once the round started. He actually fell asleep and I kept playing, however I didn't want him to be woken up by the tapping so I tried to play as quiet as possible. Once the virus got out I saw that there was an opportunity to suicide so that I could get off and let my friend sleep. I now know that most admins leave adminhelp PM's until the end of the round, however I didn't know this at the time and thought maybe an admin would PM me sometime after the virus was released, however that didn't happen and I thought they were reading the ; radio and saw that I was clearly showing it as a mistake. As an extra precaution I let the admins know via the PMs that it wasn't an intentional escape of the virus.
Blatant griefing: As I've said before, I didn't intend for the virus to escape, I merely intended to keep it inside the virus holding and use it on monkeys, however it escaped. I'm going to quote something I've said previously. "If I released it intentionally then this ban I would understand to be permanent." It managed to escape on it's own after hitching a ride inside my body and hiding until it managed to get into other bodies before showing up. I can't see how this would be blatant griefing once explained, however I can see how airinnann saw it as griefing at theÂ
time.
I understand that most of the round was wasted trying to figure out how to fix the virus and I am sorry that I caused this, however I do feel like it shouldn't be a ban for this, let alone a permanent one. It was a mistake on my part and I am sorry for that, but a mistake that wasn't meant with malicious intent doesn't deserve a consequence of severe magnitude.
