Ban Appeal - TonyRavioli

Post by TonyRavioli »

Byond Name - TonyRavioli

Ban reason - Welderbombed my library as librarian because I wanted to die

Admin Who Banned - rubyflamewing

Length Banned - Permanently

Reason for appeal - I'm a dipshit, but I did actively tell everybody I was going to bomb my own office and made sure nobody was around before I blew it up, security didn't try to stop me and I didn't get bwoinked, I understand a ban but perma seems a little overkill. I learned my lesson, no more self antagonizing.

Dummy, but if he doesn't have a lot of prior notes the perma is a little heavy-handed

Yeah, see, here's one issue.

2017-10-25 22:42:59 | CitadelStation | ragolution [Delete] [Secret] [Edit]
Welderbombed the shuttle. Gave benefit of the doubt due to unknown escalation during the round, but no exceptions from this point onward. He knows that he's on the last straw.

2 days later, this instance happened, on the 27th of October. IIRC, folks were ahelping about you going to do so, and I couldn't admin PM you in time before you actually did so. Plus, IIRC, you also disconnected after you blew yourself and the library up, so there was no way to bwoink you about the matter - I'd be willing to accept that you might've ghosted and I couldn't find you, but as I can't remember exactly, I just remember I couldn't PM you for some reason and slapped the ban down as it was because folks tend to do that sort of thing then DC because they had less than ideal intentions for the players on the server.

WITH THAT BEING SAID, I could always talk to the staff about the whole matter, and see what they think about it all. But until they say anything, you already knew you were on thin ice when you did this, so chances of it being turned into a tempban isn't looking too great. Don't wanna get your hopes up, but I'll at least ask the staff and see what they vote for.
It is only waffer thin.

Funny enough his only note on Yogs is a tempban from me. For your Emmy consideration.

"Decided to drag a few fuel tanks into the arrivals shuttle and blow it up to Quote: Make work for myself as a paramedic, this is advanced RP. Get out, read the rules, and try to RP again when ya get back."

Happened four weeks ago. I could swear I can recall you playing last couple days recently following the rules well enough but maybe I'm just crazy.

Edit: He's managed to play 7 hours since then without getting any notes

Yeah, overdosed on Colonial Marines so I've been playing yog and actually bothering to learn roles instead of just dicking around.

Also I don't think I got the PM until after I did a bad but I remember the bwoink after ghosting.

Seems a little too eager for bombing, for my tastes.
I'd vote the ban stays.

Previous notes of welderbombing? Yeah, no. I don't think you learned your lesson.

He's managed to play around on our server without breaking any rules for awhile. Solid chance he's making an effort to improve. I'd say give him a chance on thin ice.

If enough people in the staff would be up for it, I'd be willing to go with that notion, Cabbose. The *only* feasible issue that could amount to it is the fact that they were already on thin ice when it happened and got the ban over it.
But, if they can play and not proclaim that they're hopping off with more self-detonations of their work station and themselves (honestly, I'm sure everyone would prefer IC in OOC statements regarding that, since at best everyone goes "reeee" (and all it takes is an @everyone anyways on Discord to achieve that) and at worst you get told to stop it), then honestly I could be willing to give them another chance. ONLY if they're serious about, you know.

Not saying "fuck this shit, I'm out" in a minor Cuban Pete fashion as a non-antag.
It is only waffer thin.

I mean it's a win-win either way. You deny em and he can stay and continue to improve with us, maybe reappeal if he feels it down the line, or you lift it and Citadel gets a new player. He might just be sincere.

BUT thin ice is thin ice and ya sleep in the bed you make
