BYOND account and character name: Pireamaineach — Feliks Albrecht, Sasha Semyanov, Bip.
Banning admin: mouseofthecake
Ban type/duration (where you are banned from and for how long): Both a weekban from R.P. and permanent sec and headbans. Only appealing the sec and headbans.
Ban reason: As Sasha Semyanov, warden, stole the spare, made themselves captain, promoted an intern to C.M.O., stole several head gear items, and argued that they did so to "stir up interesting conflict." No way in hell would I suggest unbanning them from command and sec positions. This is also a weekban.
Your side of the story: When the shift began, we only had two crewmembers. I promptly got the spare to work on the engine. As I'm not used to vorecode S.M.s, I don't get far before an engineer shows up and I throw in the towel. Here's where I should've put up the spare, but I didn't. Since we had no medical staff, our intern was out of luck as he couldn't get into medical. I decided to promote him but thought it would be funny to promote him to C.M.O. I, personally, see no harm in doing so, and interpreted it as just hazing the intern. From there, I headed back to sec, and stole 2 things from the H.O.S. (His under, I think it's the parade one, and his energy gun.) This's vaguely when people in character decided to do something and started plotting to arrest me. (Completely valid, in my opinion how it should've been handled in almost it's entirety, spare perhaps a note.) During the ahelp I'm arrested but banned before I can be brigged.
Why you think you should be unbanned: I don't think that I should've kept the spare, I think it should've immediately gone back, but I also don't think that should've been bannable. I think that stealing the H.O.S.'s equipment validates a note, as a pattern of that behaviour becomes exceedingly annoying for nearly everyone involved, and should become punishable with repetition, which wasn't present here. I think that promoting the new crew member to C.M.O. was inadvisable in character though also negligible and ultimately just fun (in my opinion) character interaction. I won't contest the weekban, but I think permanent punishment for a situation where nobody was upset and nobody was hurt, is excessive. Someone in character even faxed CentComm about it, and I think a much more advisable use of admin powers to handle I.C. trouble makers should be to send it CentComm officials. As far as declaring myself the captain, that simply isn't true. Yes, I had captain access, but I very much still considered myself the Warden. I never stated that I did any of this to "stir up interesting conflict," or that's not that I meant to say, anyway. The point that I was trying to make was that, when anytime something like this happens, it's immediately met with O.O.C. enforcement, it strips the game of what makes it interesting. Now, had I ended up fighting back and killing people for trying to arrest me, there'd be an argument for a ban, but that isn't what happened, nor was it ever my intent.
