Ban Appeal - Admin: turgent

BYOND Name: Utmanarn
Reason Banned: Griefer.
Admin who banned: turgent
Length Banned: 1 min? Buuut the weird part is that it says "Expires in 2015-12-03". (Ban applied in 2015-12-03)
Appeal Reason: It was in 2015... I don't remember exactly what happen (Cus it was in 2015.) but I think I remember something of me tampering with atmos then DCing... But I remember that I DCd cus my internet cut out and when I tried to reconnect I saw "You have been banned". I'm sorry for what I did and I was kinda new to the game but now with some years of experience I have learnt what not to do.

I'm trying to make sense of why you say you simply lost connection and found yourself banned but took a few years to make an appeal or bring up you lost connection as a reason.

First off, there might be some error with Byond and old bans, but your ban in particular is a permanent ban.
Secondly, though the old bans that Turgent gave way back when where far from descriptive about the reasoning, they're generally not without merit.
Thirdly, the point that UBFanDrake brings up is indeed a note-worthy one; if you thought a ban was unjust at the time it was made, it shouldn't take over 2 years to make an appeal for it.

The reason your old ban says 1 minute was because of how byond handled bans back in the day, they required some form of time. They don't anymore.
As for permanent bans, time is not the deciding factor in this case. You will need to get staff from some server to vouch for your good behavior.
