[Main] (Temp) (Ban) Appeal for Tesloose

Post by MoonToxin »

BYOND Name: MoonToxin

Reason Banned: Three day ban for loosing a tesla. Warned that loosing it is an improper way of getting rid of it, and to let someone who's familiar with it to handle it, in the future.

Admin who banned: Jade Manique

Length Banned: 4200 minutes (three days)

Appeal Reason: Cite rule 1.4: Do not intentionally cause damage to the station, machines, or other structures/objects for no reason.

I did not intend to cause the tesla in cargo to explode. I had tried asking the person who made it about why it is needed while others were asking the same and even if it was safe. There wasn't any clear answer given and It was making me nervous. It certainly didn't look safe and I had never seen anything like it at all. So I decided to try to see what it would take to turn it off safely to remove any kind of possible 'bomb' from cargo. I had touched the Particle Accelerator and saw a menu on it which said power off but It didn't seem to do anything. The next closest thing I saw were the emitters, I didn't know that those were the 'containers' of all that energy and just saw that it was throwing lasers out at the other stuff. So logically speaking, i assumed that if it stops getting the laser power, then it will eventually turn off. I did that to both of the ones I saw and left.

The person who had made the device saw me in there and saw me leave but didn't make any comment about what I was doing/did and just let me go freely back down to lavaland. Five minutes later I had remembered i had some soulstones and wanted to show people it and came back to the station, and that is when the tesla blew up.

I'm still trying to learn this game and it just seems that every time I try to touch anything, i get in trouble by either admins or security. I really like this game and want to learn more about it. The guides i've seen haven't helped at all to do any of the 'fun' stuff like hacking or syndicate stuff.

Your lack of knowledge is why I made it three days instead of a week or more.
Im on the fence about lifting a ban for this, so Im gonna wait for some other staff to respond.

It's only three days. Let them sit it out.

I'd say for a genuine mistake, let em off. There are plenty of people more deserving of a ban than someone that didnt intend to cause issues on a first offense.

The tempban has expired on it's own, moving this to denied.
